Francis P. “Murphy” Larkin was born and raised in Seaside Park, NJ. He is the 4th generation of the Larkin family to happily call the barrier island their full time home. He specializes in helping buyers and sellers navigate through the ultra competitive real estate market up and down the barrier island and the adjacent mainland.

His knowledge of properties, housing, building and code statutes, floodplain regulations and demography in the area led to an appointment from the Mayor of Seaside Park to the Seaside Park Land Use Board. Murphy spent more than ten years on the Seaside Park Land Use Board which is a combination of the Board of Adjustment and Planning Board. He helped to develop the Master Plan for the community, presided over building and land variance hearings, reviewed and developed building codes and worked with local, county, state and federal partners on floodplain regulations that affect mostly all homes in the area. The experience he gained from this position is invaluable to buyers looking for investment properties or vacation homes in coastal areas where building regulations can be challenging. His experience is just as important to sellers who are looking to step away from the area's housing market.

Prior to working in real estate, Murphy earned a Bachelor Degree from Stockton University in Business Administration and Marketing. He holds multiple qualifying credits towards a Masters Degree in Public Administration from Fairleigh Dickinson University. He holds the title of Certified Public Manager (CPM) and Certified Public Supervisor (CPS) in the State of New Jersey. Murphy is also a graduate of the West Point Command and Leadership Academy.

Knowing the importance of tourism and hospitality on the barrier island, Murphy was chosen to be a member of the Seaside Park Tourism Committee where he served for many years. By utilizing marketing strategies such as social media, community events and activities, the Seaside Park Tourism Committee was able to successfully build public awareness of the island's offerings and boost tourism to assist the rental vacation home market and local businesses.

In addition to his work in real estate, he held positions as the Chief Executive Officer of the Seaside Park Police Department and Director of Emergency Management for the Borough of Seaside Park. His solid educational and career foundation further enhances his expertise in the real estate industry and gives him a broad perspective and understanding of the barrier island and its diversity.

Murphy's dedication to his community and his leadership during Hurricane Sandy and the aftermath were recognized by the Mayor and Borough Council of Seaside Park when they presented him with the Seaside Park Person of the Year Award in 2012. This award is a testament to his commitment to his community and his ability to provide leadership in challenging times.

Murphy's overall knowledge of the barrier island and coastal properties, experience, and dedication to his community make him a trustworthy and valuable resource for anyone looking to buy or sell real estate in Seaside Park and the surrounding area.
